While the Insurance Market rampant in health policies with an increase of 22,1% in twelve months, the country’s private health services (private hospitals, private clinics and diagnostic centers) show a decrease in their income – for the same period of 6, 5%.
According to the study by ICAP, entitled “Private Health Services,” the Economic Research Group, the largest decrease exhibit revenues of diagnostic centers (approximately 8.5%) and followed by purchases of obstetric – gynecological clinics to rate reduction of about 7%, and general clinics with approximately 6%.
The reasons that private agencies have undergone this reduction having to do with law enforcement 4172/2013 (clawback / rebate mechanism), whereby the sector was forced to “impairment” of their claims for the services their services EOPYY insured.
According to the study, overall clinical posting the largest share of the total market of private health services, estimated at about 62% in 2015. The obstetric clinics accounted for nearly 14% of total revenue, while the remaining 24% share private diagnostic centers.
The study presents the industry’s opportunities in which includes the cooperation with insurance companies.
Cooperation judging from the relationships that have developed recently the two sides, has begun to strengthen, and understand the reciprocal relationship that exists between them.
Other industry development opportunities related to expansion of existing companies in foreign markets, the development of medical tourism and specialization in areas where there is room for growth. Conversely, a threat to the industry can be seen prolonged period of economic recession affecting the country, the public sector liquidity problems, the tight bank credit and of course the state measures on reduction of health costs.
